‘How to Live Sustainably’ aims to support students in Years 3-6 (7-11 years old) to live more sustainably. It encourages them to think positively but critically about their choices and how they can be more sustainable both at home and at school and leave the world a better place for future generations! The lesson teaches easy and simple ways to save energy, water and food and to reuse and recycle consumer items they use every day. It introduces key concepts around sustainability, biodiversity and carbon. The lesson is centered around two main tasks: A quiz that enables the children to measure how sustainable they are, in competiton with their peers. A drawing task and sustainability action plan that encourages the children to think about sustainable changes they can make and express their artistic talents! The lesson is designed to be fun and touches a broad curriculum, including Maths, Geography, Art and Citizenship.
